Sonder Camino Ti V3

After breaking the frame of the previous sonder Camino Ti V1 sonder very kindly replaced the frame with the newest addition of the Camino Ti the V3. The differences are small, but it’s definitely improved over the couple of generations. First thing is the frame’s geometry is a little bigger all round. Both frames were the XL biggest frame these come in, but this new model is slightly longer and top tube length as well as head tube.

The frame now has internal cable routing, and the frame I received came with some guides in places to make the first installation easier. Internal routing is something I like but could quite happily live without to be honest. However, it’s not the hardest bike to install the cables. There is also a little removable plate under the Bottom bracket to make accessing that area easier.

The forks that come with this frame are also nice as they come with the three bolts on each side for mounting whatever you need to. Both the forks and frame are using flat mount brake adapters, whereas the previous V1 used post mount of the rear.

As with most gravel bikes over the years the one thing that keeps changing is how much rubber you can fit. This Camino is can fit 700c x 50mm or 650b x 2.1 inches. The original for the 700c was I believe 48mm, although I had been running 50mm tyres all along with no issues, but the extra space is much appreciated. There is plenty of space for gravel riding, but it could definitely get clogged up in the British winter muddy trails.
